Unfortunately, thanks to the creaking NHS, Chesty still hasn't received treatment for the condition which he fell ill to in Mainz last year!
He is awaiting an operation which we hope will take place in the next six weeks or so but, until then, we have had to cancel The Bugle show scheduled for Friday, July 17, and The Lamb in Lewes the day after.
We had a wonderful, if out-of-body, experience last month at The Greys when we played as keyboard drums (sporadically), bass and keyboards plus vocals.
It actually went splendidly, thanks to The Greys staff and a wonderful audience but unfortunately Blonde was already double-booked for The Bugle and The Lamb is too big to 'get away with' a set like that.
It's a shame as The Bugle and Lamb are two of my favourite gigs so apologies to Aka and Alec but hopefully we can rebook when Dan is well.
We will go ahead with my 50th Bidet Bash at the Duke of Wellington on Sat, August 22, hopefully with Chesty alongside us but, if not, as the Rick Wakeman variety. All are welcome to the show (no invites).
We all hope Chesty gets sorted quickly and is back on his feet as soon as poss.
