Designing software that builds software
BACKGROUND
Back in 2011 I helped an Australian startup launch their SaaS platform. The software allowed SMEs to leverage the Facebook platform, making it easy for business owners and marketeers to create social marketing campaigns.
IDEATION & DESIGN REFINEMENT
As a solo, junior UX/UI designer on the project I was responsible for every aspect of the MVP. Sadly as time has gone by I’ve lost my original sketches and Balsamiq wireframes but the UI designs are below.

The design process was complex and I had to consider four different user types including small business owners (users of the platform itself) and 'participants' (end users of the apps created by the small business owners).

WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
Responsive design and the mobile web at this point were in their infancy as were social networks. Sadly for the startup, Facebook eventually built most of the functionality the platform offered natively. However Tiger Pistol still exists to this day albeit with a different business model.
